Revealing Your Past Life – Through Astrology

27 Feb

past livesCall me kooky – BUT I’ve always been a big believer in past lives.    I must have read Brian Weiss’s book “Many Lives Many Masters” a million and one times because I’ve always been fascinated by the topic.  I’ve recently been thinking about this more and it’s actually pretty fitting since my ruler Saturn (I’m a Capricorn rising) as well as Mercury are both retrograde or moving back right now.  We tend to look back when the planets are moving back and this could certainly include looking as far back as a past life!

Being an Astrologer actually plays into my beliefs since our charts reveal certain things about our life patterns and what we’re trying to achieve.  It just wouldn’t  make sense in my mind if we weren’t progressing towards something.  There has to be a reward somewhere and maybe that does come when we “graduate” to our next life.  We have to go “somewhere” when we leave this earth – but most importantly it makes the most sense if we can come back again and be rewarded in the areas we were previously so challenged with.  It makes sense to me that we are able to use what we’ve learned in the past to our advantage now – while of course taking on new challenges!

I recently came across a fascinating theory, that I read in an Ivy Jacobson book, which has to do with using our own personal astrology to discover more about our past life.  Her theory is that once we pass on, we’re sort of locked up in the 12th house for a period of 360 years.  The 12th house in our charts is the last house and the one that is most tied to our karma and past lives.

She says that we can gain some clues about our past life by going back 360 years and finding the time where the Sun was in a degree one less than what it was when you were born.  This theory would account for our Sun progressing 1 degree forward – in the same sign – for each lifetime.  If you were able to use an ephemeris, you could analyze the combinations at hand on that given day and get clues about your personality.  You might also be able to see where you might have been challenged as well as where you were lucky or blessed.

Since most of us are not Astrologers – I still think it’s a fascinating thought to see what year could have been your past life.  All you’d have to do is take your birth year and deduct 360 years. So in honor of looking back – during this retrograde period – have a little fun in looking waaaaay back on when your past life might have been 🙂

Using Astrology To Figure Out Where You’ve Been & Where You Are Heading

21 Feb

Our personal Astrology holds many of the keys to understanding what your strengths and weaknesses are.  There is something in each of our charts called “The Moon’s Nodes” and the meaning of these is very helpful in figuring things out.  These important symbols are made up of the North Node and the South Node. Each is important and should be looked at in order to gain a better understanding of what YOU are about as well as WHY you are here.

The North Node shows us where you are headed or what your future entails.  It shows the purpose of our life and what we should ultimately be learning.  I always think of the North Node as a lucky spot in your chart as when it’s sparked in just the right way – it can help you along in your path creating some opportunity or help to get you to where your supposed to be. Following the path of your North Node will give you the most fulfillment out of life.

Now the South Node, on the other hand, is the exact opposite.  It shows what you’ve already mastered in past lifetimes and have brought with you here.  These skills, traits and insights are with you always and knowing this can help you tap into those valuable resources that you may forget you have.  However, it’s actually easiest for us to revert to our South Node ways as that’s what we know best. Sometimes we revert to these things a little too quickly and I’ll get to that in just a bit!

The Nodes can work as our very own personal advisors … and who doesn’t need that every once and again 😉 These special markers can give you the answer that so many of us ask which is “Why am I here?”  There placement can show you what you should pursue as well as what skills you’ve already developed that can ultimately help you attain your goals.

Some people, through fear or lack of motivation, pursue the easy way of their South Node – remember the South Node is what you’ve already mastered so it’s EASIEST for us.  Sticking with easy won’t give you fulfillment however. It’s when you pursue your North Node objectives that you truly can get the most out of life.

For a little fun – here’s as a quick look here’s some of the meanings of your North Node placements.  However, you have to remember that it’s very important to look at both the sign and house that your Nodes live in.  You have to blend the characteristics of each element in order to gain the most understanding.
