A Summer of Love and Maybe a Little Luck Too

10 Jun

summer of loveI have a funny feeling that we’re approaching a summer of love.  Now this could work for many of us – regardless if we’re in the market for finding “that special someone”.  Love is found in many places – not just in those “romancy” tales.

We can find it when we’re with our families, friends and even while we’re doing things we love.  I think that a lot of us will experience the feeling in many different ways this summer.  It’s really looking to me like a love infested summer – so get ready to get your feelin’ on!

My reasoning behind this prediction is really a no-brainer from an astrological perspective.  There’s going to be a ton of planets in Cancer – as there always is toward the end of June into July.  This is the time that the Sun, Mercury and Venus glide through the sign of the crab.  However, this year things are a little different – and in better ways actually.  We’ll have Jupiter, the planet of optimisim, luck and good fortune also gliding through Cancer at the same time.  Then on top of that we’ll have both Saturn and Neptune making nice combinations to all of them.  The sheer site of this amazing combination makes me giddy with delight.  Afterall, it’s not all that often where this kind of thing happens and it’s something to be excited about!

I think the good fortune will really stand out in mid-July, when Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune come together in a really special formation called a Grand Trine.  This will occur in 4 degrees of the water signs (Pisces, Cancer and Scoprio).  Honestly, though, all of the water planets are working really nicely for a good part of the summer so I don’t think all these good feelings will solely be felt during mid July.  Expect to feel good for at least a few months!  Then in the Fall – we’ll have to talk again about those Fall eclipses.  BUT this is not the time to ponder those 😉

I’m looking forward to a great summer and I wrote this to share the sentiment with all of you.  It’s always nice to have something to look foward too despite all the challenges many of us have had to endure.  So get excited with me!  I truly think the next few months will serve as a nice reprieve and break from all the hardships.  Some well deserved luck and good fortune just might pop out of it too 😉

Jupiter’s Entrance into Cancer Puts Family First

4 Jun

Thlove my familye lucky and beneficial Jupiter is about to change signs in a few weeks and it’s gotten me thinking about families.  This is because Jupiter is heading toward the family oriented sign of Cancer and family is going to start moving to the forefront of our minds.  We’re going to find that “family” is going to be a big theme for a lot of us.  Ultimately I think this going to work well for most of us – whether you like your family or not .  You’ll see …. we’ll all be thanking our lucky Jupiter at some point over the course of the next year or so 😉

The sign of Cancer is all about family and Jupiter’s ride through this territory will enhance our activities with our blood relatives.  It’ll also create fortunate happenings in all things domestic.  Real estate is also a big part of this – so if you’re looking to buy or sell a house Jupiter will help you.  Anything relating to our homes or family situations could receive some benefits too as Jupiter glides through the sign of family love.

Families are complicated entities but they are the people we can never leave and include those that will stick by us no matter what.  Some of us have better families than others but one thing remains the same between all of them.  They are ours and we’re stuck with them through thick and thin.  No exchanges or refunds allowed!  They laugh with us when we’re happy and cry with us when we’re sad.

I recently read  a neat and true story about an American Family titled “Okay Just One Ride.”  This is a true tale that tells us how an American familOkay Just One Ride Written by Steven Veatchy created a multi-million dollar enterprise out of kiddie rides.  If you remember those rides that were outside of every Kmart when you were a kid then this story might take you back in time – as well as get you thinking about the value of a strong and dedicated family.  I was fascinated by the entrepreneurial spirit of the company’s co-founders as well as the creative vision and hard working ethic of the family that ran it.

Corporate America has really taken the “family” out of business and it’s sad to see.  One of the reasons I loved this story so much is because it took me back to a time where people and family really mattered.  I think Jupiter is going to bring that back in some way to our lives over the course of the next year.

Sometimes we end up moving so fast and keep our focus in one area that we forget about others.  Jupiter’s sign change will probably change the focus for some of us and put family back in the forefront.  While we may not be able to be as successful as Carousel International Corporation in our rise to

the top – their story allows us to appreciate the value of family and how you can successfully created something long lasting together.    While Carousel is no longer in business today – the legacy of it’s founders lives on.  Family legacy is also another Jupiter theme and one that may play out individually for us in separate ways.

Jupiter will enter Cancer on June 25th and live here till July of 2014.  We can expect Jupiter to help us in all our domesticities including benefits through our families, home environment, inheritances, family values/legacies, children and home improvements.  Jupiter operates well in Cancer and this will particularly help all of the water signs which include Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio.

Remember … even if your Sun isn’t living in one of these signs another one of your planets might be … so Jupiter could end up helping you regardless of your Sun sign.  Here’s to our lucky Jupiter switching our focus up a bit and giving us a little help on the domestic scene 😉  A little family help is something that could benefit all of us – no matter what your situation!

Grab your Thelma or Louise and Get Ready for This Week’s Gemini New Moon

3 Jun

Thelma-and-LouiseWe’ve got a Gemini New Moon coming up this week and it’s definately something to think (and talk) about.  Grab your Thelma or Louise – or whomever it is in your life that you trust because you’ll need them for what’s in store 😉

I’ll admit – I always look foward to each month’s New Moon – because it brings something new to the table and it’s something neat to look foward to.  I never underestimate the power of the Moon and know that she’s very powerful in the currents of our lives.  Even though the New Moon or “beginning of something” may not affect me directly each month – it still ignites some place in my chart – the same as it does for all of you.

So what can we expect from this month’s “new beggining?”  Well, it’s an interesting question because we won’t really find out exactly till the end of the week but it’s always fun to ponder the possiblities 😉  The planets are continually surprising me and I’ve learned long ago never to say exactly how they’ll play out. What I can tell you is that the New Moon will peak early Saturday morning and given everything else going on via the planets this week, I’d say we’ll have a feel for what it’ll be by mid-week.

This New Moon will fall in 18 degree Gemini and conjunct (or touch) Jupiter rather closely.  If you follow you chart you can pinpoint what house this point falls in and get a hint as to where this new start might take place.  If you’re asking what the heck a house is – check this link out.  Jupiter’s expansive nature is going to enhance the “jubilence” we could potentially feel from this new beginning so that’s kind of neat to think about.  This happy – go – lucky planet always has a tendency to make things bigger than they are – heightening the situation.

There will likely be some “emotional communications”  with others that comes out of all this since Gemini’s ruling planet, Mercury, is in the feeling sign of Cancer.  Gemini likes to think (and talk) and Cancer likes to feel so – we’ll likely find ourselves talking about our feelings or pondering why certain things make us feel the way they do. Perhaps you should make plans to allign yourself with somebody who you trust – since you’ll probably notice that you’ll be letting things out a little less cautiously.   I’d probably stay away from strangers, co-workers or people you don’t trust – since you never quite know what might happen to the info released.

At the same time as the New Moon, Neptune which is another feeling planet, will be stationing or getting ready to turn backwards.  He’ll form an exact trine with Saturn on June 7th and this combination will really highlight what we may need to let go of as we embark on our new territory.  All of this is going to help us as we push foward – but it’ll really enhance  feelings – that you just won’t be able to stop from slipping off your tongue.  Emotional communciatons ….. as we all know can work for AND against us ….. so again my advice is to seek someone you trust 😉

So grab a buddy, friend, partner, co-worker, family member, your pet, or anyone you can trust and throw yourself into to this new territory that the New Moon is about to deliver.  AND you can just forget about sitting this one out alone – the energy of this one won’t have it.  A Gemini Moon needs communication to calm her jittery ways – and that my friends takes TWO 😉

Tapping Into Your Mars To Grab Twenty Seconds of Courage

30 May

twenty seconds I’ve been thinking about courage lately – since we all need to tap into it every once and again to grab things we’re trying to get.  We’re all trying to acheive something at some point or another.   Love, career, money and family are just a few of the “things” we’re after and the list can go on an on.  In order to achieve or “grab” anything – though – takes a little and sometimes a lot of courage.

One of my favorite quotes of all times is from the movie, “We Bought a Zoo.”  If you haven’t had a chance to watch the movie yet – I highly recommend it.  It’s a great – heart moving story about a family picking up the pieces after their beloved wife and mother dies.

The moving scene begins when you hear Matt Damon’s character love-struck teenage son say “You embarras yourself if you say something and then you embarras yourself if you don’t” as he talks about his love woes and trying to get a girl to like him.  Matt Damon’s character listens and quietly laughs knowing all too well the difficulties of approaching people – particularly when it comes to romantic encounters.

He gives his son some of the best advice and says  “All you need is twenty seconds of insane courage and I promise you something great will come out of it.”    Could the answer be this simple for anybody trying to tap into their courage and go for something?  Do you really need only 20 seconds to go for the gusto and let the chips fall as they may?

The answer is probably yes – however arriving there is not that easy.  Astrologically speaking, our courage lives where our Mars is placed.  Mars is the planet that allows us to act and do things.  Depending on how our Mars operates in our charts – depends on how we act with other people and go for those things we’re trying to grab.

If our Mars is in a fire sign (Aries, Leo & Saggittarius) we don’t need any coaxing to go for the gold – we’re just going to GO for it.  Fire just jumps in and deals with the repurcussions later.  On the other hand if your Mars is in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces) we act in the exact opposite way.  We tend to hold back – think waayyyyy to much about acting and worry about the consequences.

Now if your Mars is in an air sign (Gemini, Libra & Aquarius) you’re acting on intellect and logic.  They can easily put emotion out of the equation and sometimes that works (and sometimes it doesn’t) when it comes to delivery.  Lastly, if your Mars is in a earthy sign (Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn) you likely have a very systematic approach.  You’re patient and can wait for the right time to act – sometimes it takes you a little toooooo long though.

I think there are pros and cons to every placement – although I’ll admit there are some placements that are stellar and others that really make life challenging for a person.  Wherever your Mars lives, however, shouldn’t hold you back.  I think as many of us move foward and pick up the pieces of some of the wreckage these planets created for us – we need to tap in our Mars.  If twenty seconds is all it takes – I think we can all try it and see if something great does indeed come out of it 😉

I’d like to include a link to the scene that started me on this thought in the first place.  Click on the below to check it out for yourself.  Maybe Matt Damon’s character had his Mars in fire or maybe not.   Fire would be the easy answer – but sometimes the answers are not so obvious.  The truth is – his Mars could be placed anywhere – but he likely gained his wisdom through past experiences (and obviously trial and error) to come to his conclusions.  So not matter what or where our Mars is – we can all grab our twenty seconds and go for it!

Eclipse Season Finally Over – Mission Accomplished

28 May

MissionAccomplishedIt’s now time to take a deep breath of fresh air and pat yourself on the back.  You did it – and did it well! Mission accomplished!  Getting through the “triple twist” of eclipses over the last month was anything but easy – and if you are reading this now it means you made it!

Astrology is beneficial not only for looking forward – but looking back as well.   If you have a minute, think back over the events that cropped up in your life starting since the end of April.  What happened?  What did you learn?  Who did you meet?  What did you do?  Whatever took place for you personally, now that we’re through all of the eclipses we can use all the knowledge they shared and help us move forward.

Now I’m not saying this process is easy!  Eclipses tend to bring things out from the dark and after all the dark can be scary.  It makes us have to think about things that aren’t in our focus and that’s not too much fun.  However, for some reason or another life made us stop and forced us to look elsewhere.  Sometimes the process is grueling and sometimes it’s exciting.

The good news is you made it through and you should be proud of yourself.  You’re ready to move forward – pick up the wreckage that may have found you on this bumpy ride and get back on track.  A triple set of eclipses won’t bring you down! Here’s to YOU and all the positive places you’ll go.  You’re on your way and there’s no looking back or stopping how far you’ll go 😉

Fasten Your Seatbelts – Approaching Final Destination

19 May

fasten your seatbeltThe moment has finally arrived – the peak of it all.  A turning point is here for all of us – we have arrived at our final destinations.  Some of gotten here by the skin of their teeth and others have managed to muscle through without breaking a sweat (albeit I’ve yet to meet that person!).  Man o man – it’s certainly been an interesting – yet bumpy ride!

On Monday, May 20th we’ll have Pluto and Uranus in an exact square which simply means it’s the height of these powerhouse planet’s challenging energy.  These are the two that have been making us face change in our lives and basically forcing us to do things under someone else’s rules.  If you are affected then you’ve probably been feeling the tension, stress and push for months so this really comes as no surpise.

Some of us have lost some things in the fight but keep in mind that you’ll eventually get better things back in return.  The nice thing to know is that it is now peaked and the energy will start to ebate.  What’s done is done and now it’s time to pick up the pieces.

However – and yes I’m sorry to say there is a big- illusive – can’t hide however 😉  We’ve got to deal with one last eclipse and a SuperMoon rolled into one – YIKES!  This grand finale will take place during the wee hours of May 25th.  So we’ll likely be feeling this big time around the 23rd/24th.  This final eclipse is the last in a three part series that we’ve been dealing with since the end of April.  I had cautioned everyone, in my Caught Up in Oz post,  to not make any major decisions till this final eclipse.

The reason for that is because eclipses bring things “out of the dark.”  They light things up in our lives that we either totally forgot about, pushed aside to deal with later, or simply had no knowledge of it in the first place.  I don’t know about you guys but I know that I’ve had several things come to light since the end of April and I’m curious to see what the final piece of the puzzle is!

This last eclipse is a Lunar one which means it’s a super charged up Full Moon.  It’s also a SuperMoon which adds even more instensity and FLAVOR to our spicy cocktail!  This super planetary phenomeon will take a Gemini-Sagittarius theme since these are the two signs at play.  Full Moons will end something in our lives and the context here will be forces of your mind (Gemini) and your beliefs (Sagittarius).  The eclipse itself takes place in 4 degrees Sagittarius.

Have you been true to yourself throughout this battle? It’s not always entirely possible – particularly when you’re being forced to change.  Things shift for a lot of us at this final destination and remember to “trust your gut” when it all comes out.  Believe in yourself and whatever you feel is right this week.  Even though things may not be entirely on your terms – you are the one who can ultimately decide how and where to go in this new foreign land you’ve arrived in!

Good luck to everyone and make sure to fasten your seatbelts 🙂

Getting to Know Your Planets

17 May

hello-my-name-is1Astrology will always begin … and end …. with the planets.  They are the entitities that create forces in our lives and ultimately help to make things happen.  Since I’m a visual person, I’ve always thought of the planets as people.

I have characters in my head about how each of them operates.  Just like people – they have both good and bad characteristics.  They each have a purpose and work their “magic” a little differently in each of our charts.

Just for fun …. and perhaps because I’m in a “Gemini Mood” given that a lot of the planets are moving into Gemini or gearing up to get there …. I decided to help all of you get to know my “very good friends.”  For those of you that don’t know, Gemini is the talking sign and the one that likes to get social and mingle 🙂

No, I’m not a kook and I don’t talk to people that are not really there BUT I do have a relationship with each planet.  A good astrologer simply has to!  They would never be able to read a person’s chart unless they understood who the heck they were dealing with 😉

So just for fun on this Friday – here’s a little blurb about what each planet would tell you upon first meeting them :

Sun – “HEY my name is Sun and I’m here to get this party started!  Kick off those shoes and let’s party!!  It’s our time to shine and get to know each other.  I’ll tell you about ME first!”

Moon – “Dear, bring me a tissue as I can’t help tearing up! My emotions always get the best of me. Let’s talk about all our feelings.”

Mercury  – “I’ve just had a really busy day popping in and out of all of these places.  I’m excited to meet you and can’t wait to chat!”

Venus – “Darling – you are just beautiful.  I love your outfit, makeup and hair.  Is that a Louis Vitton your carrying?  I simply LOVE tasteful style! Let’s get to know each other by talking about all the things we love.”

Mars – “It’s TIME TO PARTY!”  Let’s get loose and party the NIGHT away!  Who cares if we break a few bottles along the way – you only live once!”

Jupiter –  “I’m having a GREAT day!  I love life and always feel super positive!  How ’bout you?”

Saturn – “Man – my life sucks.”  No  matter what I do – I just can’t get it right.  Let’s talk about all our problems.”

Uranus – “So excited to meet you – I love a blind date.  There’s nothing that makes me more giddy than a good surprise.  I also love getting to know about what makes a person unique – tell me what makes you different.”

Neptune – “I am simply loving these cocktails.  Let’s order a few more and get lost in each other.”

Pluto – “Yeah – I’m glad we got to meet.  Let’s get deep and talk about all our most personal secrets.”

Who would you like to meet this weekend??  I know I have my favorite picks 😉

Have a great weekend everybody!!!!
